I envy you. I am waiting on a P910 housing so I can paint. Like you I think black and white are a little boring, I was thinking yellow.

I envy P910 owners, was offered one for £20 yes £20 bargain i hear u say but i turned it down because it had no box, manual, software, duo stick or......wait for it.....charger...... hmmmm dodgey! I always seem to be a step behind, bought a p800, p900 came out couple of months later, upgraded to p900 and the p910 comes out, now i dunno if i should get p910 or wait for something else. The 9500 is calling me (under 40 quid for 1GB!) but must stay loyal to SE!
Now back to the real topic.....
I kinda bottled out of painting my original housing first, and have ordered a black and silver one of an ebay seller on which my da vinchi style and skill can be graced with first.

Buying a non-OEM housing for any Sony Ericsson units is sheer danger. Here are my experiences:
T68i: keys became too hard to press after replacing the housing and the volume adjuster required too much force to move it.
T610: Joystick was deepened so harder to move. Infrared no longer works (the area where the beam should go through may have been replaced by a very thick cover equivalent to the thickness of the whole replacement case)
K700i: did not dare replace my housing. Became more careful with my phone but it got stolen though.
P900: don't wanna dare replace my housing. Besides, it's in mint condition for I've always kept in tucked into a leather case I bought just for the phone itself.
Other than that, here are the common problems when replacing your housings with a non-OEM one (as I've heard from the one to whom I sold my T610 before):
*Weaker signal reception
*Beaming devices become weaker or disable (as what happened to my T610)
*Harder keypads
*Deepened joysticks
Indeed, Replacement or non-OEM casings surely provides you a lot more options in terms of colors unlike the OEM one (OEM housing for the P900 and P910 is just one color right?), but they would just give sheer pain not only to yourself but to your phone as well.
You should just buy an OEM one and paint it with whatever color you like. But problem though, if you want to revert back, you have to buy another one, which in term, is costly, esp. due to the fact that OEM housing of the P-series phone is highly expensive. An OEM housing here for the P900 costs around $50 at SEMICON, and you can't replace the housing on your own, they'll have to replace it for you. It's their policy I believe. Well, that's all about it. Hope I helped somehow.
