This is my first phone with EDGE (my first GSM phone too)...my previous ones weren't nearly as fancy as this, so unfortunately I can't really compare.
First impressions are good, though the complaints about the keypad are definitely valid. That could have been better, but other than that, so far so good...
My only big complaints are with Cingular's prices.

It's a bit bigger than most flip phones I have seen, and looks a bit different than a lot of them, but I think it's nice -- unique.

I have owned every brand that the U.S. has to offer. SE is the best by far. I have not gone back to any other brand after my first SE.
I am with Cingular as well. If you need any help such as e-mail set up with Cingular or anything else, just let me know as I have been a Cingular customer for many years.
You've made a good choice in owning an SE phone.
