I carry my P910i for 6 months now, and the last 2 months without flip.
But my P is wearing a screen protector since day 1.

there are little programs for ppc that you can install and it lets you tap on an icon and you turn off the screen (not only backlight) and gprs (and also your mp3 music) stays active. And with one press on the on button you turn on the screen again.

Agreed, but it is a windows 2003 second edition, and one of the things in windows 2003 second edition was supposed to be was that GPRS would stay on even when device goes in standby (power off). Only XDA made some changes to go back in time.

Well played with mine and it loses out to the p800 on one important (to me anyway) aspect........

you can't browse folders and upload files to servers via a webpage
