@maddav Oh and that Gold version disc that you all think is genuine is actually stripped down version...missing a few things and runs a high risk of screwing your system.

Oh right, I read that the GM (Gold Master) was the final version, and that explained Apple's concerns towards the distribution of it. (Guess that's just me on the wrong end of the stick.)
As for the downloaded version screwing your system, I've got more sense than to download an OS from a P2P or something and try and use it, that's just asking for trouble, anyways, I love my iBook too much to "soil" it.

Woot, an OS upgrade you have to pay for

.
WTF does "Woot" mean? Is that nerd-speak for something?
Yes, you do have to pay for 'Tiger'. That's how companies who make software pay the bills! Duh!!
Somewhat like you'll have to pay for Long (overdue) horn, if it ever comes out... with features us Tiger users will have had for years!!!
EDIT: I just found out what 'Woot' means:
"w00t" was originally an truncated expression common among players of Dungeons and Dragons tabletop role-playing game for "Wow, loot!" Thus the term passed into the net-culture where it thrived in video game communities and lost its original meaning and is used simply as a term of excitement.
LOL - A dungeons and dragons nerd!!!!
