what cell codes exist, I remember I used to use 200 to display the std code I was in but are there any other useful numbers?

follow these instructions
goto menu
messaging
settings
area info
subscriptions
new
enter the number 200
save
reception on
cell info on
then when you exit the messages you should see the STDs for the local areas to you.
These are the settings in my phone O2 online contract may be different on different networks etc..

on the nokia 5110 if you changed it to 001 it would make the alarms in shops go off lol, didnt get round to trying it tho.

Cell Broadcast allows network operators to send you text like services, eg weather forcasts, lottery results, etc.
The only time I have ever seen it work is on O2 and Vodafone where one of the codes allows you to see which area code you are currently in (eg 0161 for Manchester).
I just want to know if it works on Orange and if so what channel numbers

Orange UK don't use cell broadcast.
In fact they deactivate the function on their phones so you can't even get the messages when you're roamed on foreign networks which use CB.
