No they shouldn't because its going back in time.
There is nothing wrong with low range phones without cameras but why have the P910i with all its amazing features and no camera?
I would go for the J300i!

you can basically put a SE logo same as on battey cover on the camera lens, if you are not allowed

I think they want to because it will lower the price.
But sony ericsson would never invest money into a smartphone that goes back in time... be a bit of a gamble

With the invasion of privacy by camera phones, more and more institutions are banning camera phones, so imo having a phone with the features of a P910 or the W800 (good mem, music player, games, etc etc) without the camera would be quite useful, although i'm sure SE arent going to head in that direction

Many users feel that the camera has become superfluous and is no longer a desired feature in a handset.
It is not going back in time, it is reducing size, cost and increasing efficiency.
I havent used the camera on my P800 in over a year, it was fun at the beginning but serves no purpose.
Especially if its a low resolution camera phone, like that on the P910, however rumors say that the PX00 successor will have a megapixel cam, I think thats in order as long as they release a low end one which has all those featrues (WIFI Etc) and witohut a camera.
Similar to the K700 K500 relationship, two phones almost identical features, but one has more than the other, ones a low end phone and the other a high end. Although ones better than the other, its easier on the pocket for people with a budget.

Perhaps they could keep the camera as an attachment, and in various options ranging from VGA cam to 2 mp cam, that way we would only have to change the cam and not the entire handset lol

and remove it when not needed

Yes but that would be truly going back in time, when looking at a handset that lacks a camera, I dont feel that it is below any other handset, however if it came with an attachable I would feel that it is a step backwards. I think that it should lack the camera all together. Also creating an accessory only for one device is a waste.
