what I find is that once anyone, male or female, settles into a relationship they rarely think of the small things that once meant so much. This means "please" and "thank you" get left behind because a set of expectations have already been established. Holding a door open for the girl changes from an all the time thing, to a sometimes thing. Little compliments and flirtations become less frequent.
If you want the to hear "please" and "thank you" again you need to do something that is out of your routine. Design a night full of things that you know she'll love and that you haven't done together. Surprise her with it, tell her you have a whole afternoon and evening planned, but don't tell her the details. Make her set it aside on her calendar and wonder about it.
My personal experience, if you want appreciation and excitement to come back, you have to do something different once in a while...

This happens allot here in stockholm man! The thing is, even girls that you are not going out with do it! Here a girl just takes it for granted that you are going to open the door for her, or other small things. I just have that!

Its all about how you conduct yourself, i have a problem with saying "sorry" for the smallest things. I dont like over using things like that, so i dont use it, saying sorry all the time just exhausts its meaning.
I think women are very demanding emotionally compared to men. Its not always about how much money you spend on them becuase if thats all they care about then drop em, kick them to the kerb (not litterally, that would be very bad).

Nobody force u to pay as i see. If u done it on your own, its not welcome to cry cos of it imo. Ladies are worth for gifts and teasing, especially girlfriends.
