It doesnt matter what security systems are in place scams will always happen, Ebay spend millions on their "security" and it hasnt really made any sort of difference,

If laffen were to introduce some sort of security system then it will cost a fortune, i dont see why he should pay to allow a few certain members to constantly sell on the esato market "safely".

All what would happen is people being charged for selling and buying in the market, it would be good income for ESATO but at the end of the day its a mobile phone forum

thing about ebay is u can register and start buying/selling straighaway.
Most scammers wouldn't waste time hanging around forums posting 100+ and then waiting 1 month to get activated to use the members market.

I know there will always be scammers but this will help to bring the numbers down a little.

little is better then allowing scammers roam around freely.

Sure people trade. But why bring laffen in to it with IP logs etc.? Doesn't he do enough for us without having to mother us to?

Its his responsibility because he runs the damned place. Also, mods can view IP thingys too.

I expect there is pretty much zero chance of a system like the star thing being implemented on this forum.

The 100post and one month thing is a fantastic idea and surely wouldn't be hard to do.
Still I don't expect to see it

Remember you can check out feedback at the A-ZoTS (link in my sig) where I have recently added some improvements including a feedback count for each user on there
There is also a negative feedback section so u can see who to avoid.

If a sysyem for "safe" trading were to be set in to action it would mean a lot of extra work. (As has been said allready)

But, listen to yourselves here; 1 month/100 posts. What a brill idea!
Very easy to set in to life; Don't buy of, or sell to, members with less than that. It's as simple as that.

Another thing I could see possible is a "Esato Certified Seller"-system.
If you are honest and have no intentions of cheating anyone you could register in a section viewable only to the moderators wit full name and contact details, accepting that your data will be give out to whoever might have a good rason for complaing on a trade executed by you. By regestring you get some sort of icon in your avatar showing that your intentions in a trade are honest.
(Hope I managed to say that the way I ment... )

But, all this is up to Laffen to decide.

But what's to stop people simply registering with false details?
Also avatar icons wouldn't be much use to people on HTML Light or WAP

Basically the best way to avoid scammers is avoid anything suspicious & stick to people you know you can trust.
Scammers tend to be newbies but newbies are not necessarily scammers, if people get too afraid then we won't develop any NEW trusted sellers.
There are ways of dealing with people to offer some reassurance such as cash on delivery, send copies of their ID etc. Also scammers are impatient & probably won't put much effort in so if u take time & ask them to provide lots of things & meet your conditions they may give up.

Most of all use your common sense and if it seems to good to be true then IT IS!
