I think this is a good solution to use wiFi and Bluetooth, check it out: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=86546

A Bluetooth-wifi router will not allow you to be more than 10 meters away from the router. Cheaper and simpler would be to buy a USB-Bluetooth dongle for your pc.

Besides, you can't go wardriving with it anyway.

I have a BT dongle on my pc, but I think this is quite handy, you just place this thing in your suitcase and dont leave it more than 10meters away from you, then you can use this whereever a WiFi is, in my school etc

You're right, and I typed too soon. The Possio PX30 has a battery, whcih makes all the difference. I wonder how much it costs, there is no reference to price on the site and it doesn't seem to pop up on auctions.

That mem stick wifi thing... the "Pins" on a normal memopry stick line up with the duo, so couldnt you just take the thing apart, link the Mem stick ports with a hacked apart duo, and hey presto.... like this *drawing pic now *

Who's going to write the driver? Assuming for the moment that the Pee's hardware allows for such a thing? I mean, if your PDA were to have a PCMCIA type I slot, no matter what hacking and soldering you'd do with a type II wifi card to a type I memory card, it would never ever work, as the type I specs simply don't allow for it.

Yes but the voltage is the same, wouldnt need drivers coz they would be on the mem stick (the original)...the mem stick and duo are practally the same apart from the size!

I'm going to stop right here, because I don't know enough of the memory stick specs to give an intelligent reply.

For those who were dreaming about the Possio PX30, here's a quite rude wake-up call:

http://www.mobiledatadirect.c[....]uct_info.php/products_id/17661

UKP 655.03 incl. VAT!!! Aaarghhh!!!!!

I did find something else:

http://www.wirelessfutures.co.uk/page.php?page=aw_st_cb_ea_rs232

but this is far from a finished product, as it would require a housing, a connecting cable, a power supply and a driver for the Pee.

Who has won the lottery and doesn't know what to do with their money?
