I see what you mean PeterKay, I would also have thought of something better
Mad_Bob a server can crash at any moment or they update soemthing and removed the page, they don't wait that all users have logged off before taking it down

i think SE have made the update service more complicated than it could be. should just be a case of downloading a file and uploading it to your phone! if only SE weren't so worried about people changing the branding on their phones and upgrading p900 to p910's all would be rosy!
BTW i was slaggin off the error message more than the actual web site, although the person who wrote it abviously didn't think so many people would get to see it!!!

@ Jim
You seem to of taken this very seriously.. almost to the extent that you were the one responsable for making the page.
People are allowed to be annoyed when they get haIfway through updating and an error occurs.
People are also allowed to joke about an error message resembles something from a childrens TV program.

I'm not taking it seriously it's just that I want you to understand that there alot of factors that have maybe taken the site down and I also try to explain that in such cases you don't need to get pissed, you just have to take your time and contact the SE support like it's writin on the error page !
And I was also joking about the error page, I think that I have put the ";)" no ?
Cheers

The solution is simple - use the Back button to navigate back and update service will try to reload the page once more. Eralier or later you will be successful, their servers are probably overloaded...
