> Driver was texting when he killed child

Does anyone actually have
any details on this, because speculating on the liability of the parents given the circumstances seems more than a bit unfair otherwise. If there is any information that suggests that they have neglected their duties then fair enough, but I think it is totally unfair to generalise by saying that because it was 10pm and the child was not in bed, they are bad parents.
How judgmental can you be with so little information?

Hello ?? Am i hearing right here ? A TWO year old child lost his life, his parents are probably extremely sad over the loss of their child, crying their hearts out and all this because of a bloody jerk who was TEXTING while travelling 10mph OVER the speed limit and you guys are talking about "bad PARENTING" AND "DARN KIDS" ???
You shouldnt even TALK on the phone while driving an automobile ! and this guy was TEXTING !!
And i guess you guys would find him guilty only if he struck another grown-up ??

Fair point that, there isn't much info available.
It's a tragedy all round:
Parents have lost thier child.
Driver has done something he will have to live with for the rest of his life.
I really think this child's death was avoidable. There was poor choices made by everyone concerned.
In case I was not clear in my previous text, my definition of bad parenting was for regular late nights not the one-off late night which this may have been. I know first hand what devastation regular late nights can cause a child. Now that my 10 yr old is in my custody and not my ex-wifes he is no longer in danger of being expelled from school for his out of control behaviour.
This is my personal experience. I am not insinuating anything about the 2yr olds parents.
I did say that I thought the driver should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. I also have a 1 yr old and can only imagine what the parents are going through.

i'm almost 100% that ayush aimed his comment about darn kids at the 18 yr old driver.....
anyway, a tragedy
poor parents, i wouldn't call them bad parents considering we don't have a clue what happened, maybe they were coming back from some friends considering it was a saturday, imagine yourself loosing a child!!
