Well, I think I may be able to live without a Symbian device - but it would be hell to use a non-smartphone for sure. I tried it a few months ago, and it was a horrible experience.
Symbian Series 80 and UIQ are my favourite in that order, but I wouldn't mind giving Palm and Microsoft a trial.
