If it takes 4 seconds in each try...
In worst case it will take 27.8 hours without stopping to find the number, but you have a 50% chance of finding it after 13.9 hours.

Now... how can you be sure the number is 4 digits long?
(it may be 5, 6 ...)

Unlocking a locked phone is deliberatly a hard thing to do. Or else why bother with lock codes

Im sure it is if you have the £140 the cable costs.

Its good in a way. So when somone buys that £150 knocked off phone they need to spend another £140 to get it unlocked making it cheaper to buy a new one almost

Of course if you actually own it just head down to your SE center and get it done. Mucho cheaper

That's one reason I would not trade my P910 with a Windows smartphone - security!
Once locked it's well locked. And if you lost the phone and have sensitive information in it, unlocking deletes everything (except for the memorystick)
I like it that way. I hope SE doesn't change this in upcoming P's.
