Same here (running R2AT).

Sigh...I'm partly glad that it's not just me suffering from this one, however I feel guttered that they didn't fixing it 6 months (R2AL/AT) after the initial release of R2AE033...this is pathetic, someone please send them an e-mail or something...How do they justify all the money that goes towards QA, it's beyond me...

I'm aware of the fact that R2AA doesn't suffer from it though, just forgot to post it in my original post...At least some versions of R2AA that is...

Non multicharacter search asian firmware (R2AE). Can't reproduce the issue.

Just tried it on my K700 with R2AE firmware and it happened just like in the video.

Doesn't happen on my S700 though with the latest R3M firmware!

Got a reply from SE about this:

Quote:Dear Mr McDonnell,

Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Call Centre.

With regards to your enquiry, if you are experiencing this issue we would
recommend having the handset examined as this is not an issue we are aware of
and have tested K700i handsets to find no such problem.

Please note that Apple provide all support for linking up Macs and Sony Ericsson
mobile phones and for further assistance please contact them.

If you would like to have your phone repaired, please find below the postal
address for the main Sony Ericsson approved service location. We suggest you
send the handset via recorded delivery, for your peace of mind when it is in the
post. We ask that you include your address, a fault description, and a copy of
your proof of purchase with the IMEI number on it. We suggest that you retain
the original proof of purchase, and that you note the IMEI number prior to
sending.

Please note that if the damage is not covered by the Sony Ericsson Limited
Warranty, there is a fee to have the phone returned or replaced. Please view the
warranty in your user guide or at www.sonyericsson.com/support for more
information regarding this.

Please do not send your SIM card, and if the problems are unrelated to the
battery, charger, or back cover, do not send these parts either.

Now that R2AY004 is out can someone try the phonebook crash bug and report back? My DSS-25 is still in the post, so I can't really give it a go.

I got a reply from SE stating that my case has been escalated to the SE back office for further investigation. Maybe this is the firmware that fixes the bug!

Yes, we know that R2AT exhibits the bug, it was posted in this thread a few posts back, I was more or less interested to see if R2AY behaves the same way...
