Courtesy of Google, I found some GPRS networks in Mauritius, Kenya and Sierra Leone.

List updated.

You mentioned Ghana's Spacefon Areeba. This network's GPRS is not yet commercial. It is still on soft launch for over 5 months now. Kenya's Safaricom recently launched GPRS. There is 3g in Mauritius. No GPRS in Sierra Leone as you implied earlier. You would do well to support you writings with fact and not this obsession just for the sake of posting. There is quite comprehensive information about GPRS in Africa on http://www.mobileafrica.net This message was posted from a Nokia

Again, what's your point? These have been mentioned.

I did mention I got that info off Google. You have a problem with that, sue them. But thanks for the correction anyway. Appreciated

How did you arrive at this interesting conclusion that I have an obsession for posting?

Yes, MobileAfrica is a good place for info on GSM services in Africa, but even the info there is not 100 percent uptodate.

I actually visit MobileAfrica and personally have a working relationship with them.

Lastly, if you'd just modify the tone of your posts, you'd sound more polite and inoffensive. Just my opinion though

You might be interested to know that MTN has switched on it's UMTS network in the major cities of South Africa...soon there'll be real competition in the 3G arena.

@brix: Whoa!!! You guys have it going in SA.

But this keeps me wiondering why MTN continues to give us the very short end of the stick here in Nigeria. Can you imagine that they are the only GSM network yet to say a word about GPRS?!

MTN Nigeria and V-mobile Nigeria have both started GPRS.

Looking at the Nigerian thread the past couple of days one could swear that people were preparing themselves for the second coming in their scramble to get MTN GPRS. This message was posted from a K700i
