I registrated as soon a could when I saw this message.
I am also a denveloper and once a had this same problem with
software I had made.

I denveloped a nice programm for Windows, but a virus in my computer wasn't detected on my computer because I didn't had the upgrade for that period. The virus got in one of the files of my new programm.
On the day I made the programm nothing was wrong, but after
some weeks people e-mailed me that they had a strange file on
their computer, a virus. So I think it is possible that a virus can infect
some of your files while you are programming, also if you have a virusscanner. Maybe it sleeps for a while that's also possible.

I looked at TCPro.exe and the virus is packed into the programm.
I think it is hiding in a script, I have no idea wich script or file. I have Norton Virusscanner and it said the same as McAfee on Annemiques computer:

TCPro.exe infected with W32/supova.worm

I think it is the same as the Windows XP Keymaker that you can download from KZ-program, or like bigmac.exe it is the same deal with that program.

I also don't think the virus will damage files or what so ever, but I do think the virus irritates with the messages it gives with McAfee, Norton and other virusprograms. The firus is LOW as shown on McAfee.
When I got this virus, the virus had infected around 50 files in a strange map called "System Volume Controle/..." there were 50 files all ending with .exe and they all got the W32/supova.worm

I am sorry to say this Ericssony but I know you realy worked hard on the program, but I don't take the risk to install the program again with that virus in it.

The best you can do is to delete the whole programm.
And than scan your computer with a Virusscanner like McAfee (Version 6) or Norton 2002.

If you not noticed yet all this new posters (Annemique, peternouws, EricBM) are one and the same person! And this new posters have a two other names: mobiliano and TheCrow. Hi guys
All this posters use some specific words in their posts no one else use!

The original Theme Creator Pro from my site and from my computer is not infected with no viruses!

Fact 1:
From McAfee Virus Information Library:
Method Of Infection:
This worm (W32/Supova.worm) attempts to use the KaZaa file-sharing network and MSN Messenger instant messaging network to spread. The worm cannot propagate on it's own without either of these programs installed on the local system. It does not contain any other payload other than to propagate.

Virus Characteristics:
This worm is designed to propagate through the KaZaa peer-to-peer file-sharing network and MSN Messenger. It attempts to lure KaZaa users into downloading and running itself by posing as software titles that users may find enticing.

Fact 2:
From Symantec:
For W32.Supova.Worm to spread, the KaZaA program must be installed on the computer

Fact 3:
NO registry key on my computer to load the worm at startup! And no traces in registry!

Fact 4:
Indications Of Infection:
Presence of the following files in the WINDOWS directory:
Desktop-shooting.exe
Hello-Kitty.exe
BigMac.exe
Cheese-Burger.exe
Blaargh.exe

This EXE files are not found and are not presence on my computer!!!

Fact 5:
How can I been infected with this worm if I DON’T use KaZaa or MSN Messenger? Nor any other file-sharing networks! And have the newest virus definition files for all virus scanners!

For me is this tread closed!

P.S. Laffen PLEASE close this thread! Thank you!

I've been officially testing the TC beta since the start and have not had any virus problems or had anything happen to my T68i. Dunno what the deal is with these posts.

I have nothing against you Ericssony and I am not mobiliano or one of that other names you mentioned.

If people want to use your program they must use your program.
They only thing I wanted is to confirm the message of Annemique.

You are a nice guy and I believe you aren't bad, but before you give other people bad names, please be all friends and be nice to each other? Why should we fight about this. We should help each other, not fight each other.

Friendly,

P. Nouws

EricSony,

Don't pay attention to these guys. They are just taking the piss out of you. There is nothing wrong with the program you wrote.
I am paranoid about getting a virus. I update my norton every day just in case there is a new virus definition. I also scan everything that comes on my computer. There is NO virus in your program.
These guys are just a bunch of wankers. Just ignore them.

Yes this is a really random thread!?? I'm sure the program you wrote is Ok and it has been infected via file sharing on kazaa. This would not suprise me as loads of the shared files are infected with various trojans/viruses.

Anyway hope you guys sort it out.
