Use the equalizer to increase everything to almost the max, dont do it all the way or you'll damage the speaker, but u will have louder audio.

Sometimes I can hardly hear people when holding the phone to my ear - its
definitely lower than my K700. I have to put the speaker phone on often!!

Im one of those which must have a louder k750. Or maybe i was one of them which had a quite k700.
Yes some people do have louder, quiter versions.
My k750 is louder then my k700 in loudspeakr aswell as listening to it with the headphones. Its only the slightest bit lower then my bro's p910.
Still with better headphones this phone is a serious contender for being a great mp3 player. (Aswell as more memory)

After months of waiting I recieved my K750i. I think that functionaly this is one of the best phones I have owned (I currently have the P900). It is very unfortunate that the volume on this phone is very weak and does not compare to my Nokia 6610, P900 or even my older T68i. I find this a serious flaw in the phone and have contacted SE in this regard. I was informed that this is the first that they have heard of this problem and suggested that I exchange the unit for another one. I am not sure that this is a hardware issue and unfortunately I am inclined to return this phone unitl this issue resolved.
Has anyone managed to overcome / find a fix for this issue?

Oh great, to think I have placed an order for a K750i because I think the in call sound quality of my 6610 is too low.

i think it's a firmware problem coz my phone is also like tht, so i don't think the whole world has a hardware problem, it would make more sense if it's a firmware problem and would be fixed hopefully soon..

theres an EU regulation that says any portable music devices that come with inner ear headphones must have the volume limited to a safe level. To prevent people doing damage to their ear.
How thoughtful.
so yes its firmware limited.
