i cant see nokia releasing another p800 style phone... just to get one over
nokia have public awareness.... i was talking to a mate that works in a phone shop the other day.. and he was saying how he was getting a 7650. he didnt even know what the p800 was!
with nokia releasing the 7210 and 6610.. (also the 3510) i cant see them planning on releasing any more new phones anytime soon. Whats the point with those top notch phones coming out?
i agree with kevin in that they are for 3g phones... nokia just promoting something that doesnt exist yet... (and not the phones)!

as MixiN wrote... it's just some advertising for 3G... just hope Nokia's 3G phones works better when they hit the market than when they where running them on test networks here in Sweden

I also saw some Nokia commercials and they talk about future possible developments...They are not sitting and waiting but he you think that way pot will never buy a new phone.I will buy SE because they are part of a bigger electronic network and until Nokia makes some strategic alliances they will not be able to compete.Screens, digital cameras,video,music,computers...SE has it all,in the long run those things count.

Nokia? What is that?
Seriously though, they would hardly put something out there that competed with 7650.. If it's 3G (wcdma) they might announce it but that announcement will probably come "on pair" with SE's 3G-announcements. See, the reason they announced 7650 just after T68-release is to always have "one of the best" in their line. Even if most people don't afford a 7650, it affects their image positively. When Rob, 16, goes and buys his brand 33-ish nokia, he feels he is getting a phone from the best and most high-tech phone-company. I think sales of 3210 and 3310 (which were terribly ugly) were affected positively by the existence of 8210 (which was admittedly geniously designed, since it was not designed by nokia.)
The problem though, as someone pointed out, is that people don't understand anything. I fear they might think, "ah but maybe I should wait for that wiz-bang nokia-thing they talked about on tv" and then it might hurt P800-sales.
On a personal note, I think P800 is too big but it's somehow OK for the functionality you get. 7650 is a brick and that's rather sad. The people who demonstrate these on pictures must really have GIANT hands.
The face of 7650 is mostly a black furnished surface that is good for NOTHING. If they were really committed to making the best, they could scale it down and make it just about the size of 8210 or just a bit bigger. Ofcourse the price would be higher. But onl y then would I be impressed. And since that camera apparently takes useless pictures , most people can do without it.
I hear bluetooth support in 7650 sucks so they could cut that out as well. Do it right or don't do it all. The userinterface looks crude and beta in some areas. The joystick feels awkward. Credz to nokia for their marketing and some of the work on the gui (icons, menu-graphics).

Nokia have announced that they will release 10 color-phones within this year,..so we might see something new,..who knows
About 7650,..I spoke to Nokia at the bluetooth-show,..about the missing bluetooth headset profile,..they were encountering some problems with their version of the Symbian and bluetooth audio profile,. but also said that when ready, this would come as a software-upgrade.
I also had a look at the P-800,..hmm,..its got nice features, but I still think it lacks a bit in design,..just my personal opinion.

Nokia will have to wait with 3G like all other companies! Vodafone have said they will not launch 3G until next year!

I have yet to see WCDMA in the USA but Sprint has released their "3G" 1xRTT system by the name of "Vision". Nokia could be releasing a phone for Sprint but the network is really not up to speed. It seems that 3G is a waste in the USA since most people need a phone for calling and not data. 1xRTT has been really disappointing since it was released in the USA but hopefully when EDGE and WCDMA are out, those will run much better.

I will be very honest the 7650 has a better design and is more stylish than the P800 ,not because i bought it ,its a fact but P800 is an overall better phone....but get this Nokia announced that the 7650 is in the imaging phone category and not in the smartphone category like the P800...so are Nokia gonna come out with a SMARTPHONE?????????????

"better design and is more stylish"
...not saying i disagree with you but it cant be fact, more likely an opinion.
the 7650 would be in the imaging phone category as it's not a phone/pda.
you wont find people trading their Palm & handsets in for a 7650 whereas you will find them doing this for the P800.
they both have inbuilt cameras, the comparisons stop there really.
