its alright as long as its with people who dont mind. for example , me and 4 of my friends have an agreement that we can give what we get, as loing as it doesnt get too out of hand. as long as its a joke, and consent has been given, then its fine

Hey, my friends and I were pretty brutal to each other when we were in our teens. We still are. I'll punch them for fun, but always with the expectation of eventually being punched back. Kids do stupid stuff and thats fine, as long as it is to each other and not on some unsuspecting victim.
Happy Slapping and this new version bother me. I am just glad I haven't heard of this stuff going on in the US.

Where did these come from? If they were recieved via BT or SMS, then please contact the Police.
Violence of any sort should not be condoned or perpetrated by anyone. Posts by Esato members saying 'Happy slappers are stupid and sick so let's also be stupid and sick by beating up on them!' are not helping change the attitudes that created this problem.
Voilent assualts are for the Police to sort out, and the Public should assist to the best of thier ability by PROVIDING EVIDENCE and making it known to Government and Judges that LONG PRISON SENTENCES are what you want in the cases.
Resorting to Lynch Mob mentality only encourages the attitude of 'Violence is only OK when I do it' which is only a small step away from the attitude of the Happy Slappers themselves.
I was a victim of bullying in my teens, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
