If you install tweakui to remove the icon, then uninstall tweakui, will the icon come back? I didnt really want to have tweakui either.

certainly does. I posted this same tip a couple of times in the last year for the P900 and P910 icon, e.g.

I don't want the P900 icon on my desktop!

uninstall se desktop p910

the icon won't come back if you uninstall tweakui, though tweakui is a tiny program that won't take up any hdd space nor slow your computer down at all. But you can remove it without worry about the icon returning.

.... a bit silly! Hell, you can hack the SE icon out by using the registry, I've done it before without tweakui - tweakui just saves you the hassle of searching the registry for the right key.

I believe the method stated in this thread should be quite useful as I've used it myself sometime back: SE File Manager icon on desktop

As I'm now using the excellent "MyPhoneExplorer", I have no need for the SE PC Suite anymore.

Yep, whenever I try to use SE pC Suite it just gives me one problem after the other. It takes ages for it to recognise attached phones, get's confused easily when phones move in and out of range, you can't easily disable the mobile phone monitor, which also sometimes locks onto a ohone and won't let you connect to it via other means, phone explorer crashes freguently when trying to explore the phone etc etc.

Gives me a royal pain in the arse...
