No, the problem is the file has to be converted to .mp4/.m4a, not simple .aac . It wonīt do with just renaming

you should be able to use dbpoweramp to wrap the aac stream in an mp4 shell...
or atleast extract to wav so you can then rip an mp4..

A .mp4 file and a .aac file is not the same thing ! ! ! A .mp4 is a audio/video codec where a .aac is a audio only codec. The audio encoding in a .mp4 is 'almost' identical to a .aac file but not the same.the whole header part will be different ! A simple name change won't work ! To put it in a .mp4 or .m4p or any other format it 'means' the file must be reencoded to that format ! Because of copyright issues, very few devices out there can play true .aac encoded files. This message was posted from a Nokia 7650

a simple name change is not enough it's true.....

But if you can rip the audio data (obviously you would need software that can decrypt the data if it is copyright protected) then you can easily decode an .aac file to wav and from there encode as mp4, mp3, ogg, whatever.

Some aac files aren't copyright protected, so it may be possible in this case to use a decoder... if one can be found...

I tried extracting the audio out of the .aac files taken off my Nokia 5510, but all the aac codecs I've tried don't recognise it as aac. I expected that; the manual for the phone was quite clear that the music files would be no use on other devices!

No, just normal AAC

Regarding id tags, any mp4/m4a music file has id tags, when converted from a mp3 file that had id tags, they appear in Itunes...donīt now if they appear in k750 though
