Tks masseur.
More out of curiosity to see what the thing actually looks like 'in the metal'.
I can't actually imagine paying that much for exclusivity...the phone's relatively spartan features don't help with justifications either, not that it's designed to be an all-singing, all-dancing handset I guess, more 'how much for a work of art' (debatable!)I suppose.

I certainly wouldn't pay the prices mentioned here for this though once in a while I have been known to pay a little over the odds for a stylish phone that I really wanted regardless of features... the V3 being an example of that and its still one of the phones I have owned for the longest time

but £550+VAT for the 8800... I'll wait until this becomes a little more sensible. perhaps Nokia are trying to position it between their normal range and the Vertu?

yes, i actually think you hit the nail on the head there.

vertu are obviously the high end nokia, therefore the are trying to be a step closer to the accent.

possibly anyhow.

I hada chat with the nokia head a day ago and this is not true.Nokia always had the premium phones. The this is vertu is all hand assembled and is not mass produced. The 8800 will be 100 sterling in 6 to 8 where as the vertu's price has gone UP.

aboveconnection - could you tell me if it supports Line 2? I'm on Orange and need this facility to separate personal and business calls. If so, I'm your first customer as I'm only a few miles from you in NW London. Thanks.

Seriously good looking phone! I like that!

Huge forward step in the looks department, i guess they got tired of all the "Blokia" jibes.

Pricy though.
