Speed... what are you talking about?
no, thats not why..
Hes using o2 gprs and its been discussed 100's of times in this forum that o2 gprs does not allow
cookies.
so he cannot login to Gmail no matter what he does... buy hey, thats the price you pay for using free gprs.
Cant really complain tho since it is free

yea with ebay you can sign in and even bid. i used to do it on my P800...
not sure why though? does it matter? i always asumed its because ebay uses a secure connection to log in etc...
yahoo mail also works fine with a secure connection
..indeed, o2 is very strange network

gmailLite is a php script, which is very nice!
you can check it out here:
http://gmail-lite.sourceforge.net/
there is a running server with gmail lite, which is supposed just for trying out the script (demo, but usable) . check it out here:
https://laputa.sytes.net:883/gmailer/gmail-lite/
or here:
http://www.theplaceforitall.com/gmail-lite/
I was thinking about to set this script on my page, but then gmail team made gmail accessable with any browser.
But if enough people want GmailLite, then I can set it up... if you all want it..?

I tried setting up my P910i with Gmail and had the same problem. I emailed Gmail and this is their response:
"Thank you for your message.
We haven't been able to test POP access with your mail client yet, but
we're working to make our service compatible with as many mail clients as
possible. We look forward to announcing additional compatibilities in the
future.
You can find the latest information on POP access in the Gmail Help
Center. Just click 'Help' at the top of your Gmail account.
Sincerely,
The Gmail Team"
