The difference is there but IMO is not an issue in the slightest. I tried a Samsung Z500 that uses the Media Player for ringtones and you could not hear the bloody thing even on max. I love the LOUD MP3 ringtones on the K750i and this is far more important than the quality of the sound. It's a ringtone for God's sake, you only hear it for 5 seconds, no one is listening to your ringtone thinking 'ooh that sounds a little treble heavy, could do with a bit of bass'. If you are unhappy with it spose you could always dig out an old Nokia and revert back to the beeps, whistles and bells.
