Dear Tranquil,

Probably what they meant was "earth". it is a word commonly used in engineering. In simple terms, static electricity or the current generated by the incoming/outgoing micro-waves seeps into delicate circuits and interfere with them, that is delicate circuits are not shielded (or grounded properly) as good as it should be.

Well, I am confused by the replies. But at any rate, this weekend I'll try to drop by the Ericsson service center. I'll let you know about their reply or remedy.

By the way, I realized that GPRS connection drains the battery in a furious way. I stayed connected for only 15 minutes and the level of battery dropped one notch. Yikes!
