Having owned a v3 and also currently own an s700 i found the s700 to be better by a long way. The v3 doesn't come anywhere close to matching the s700. V3 is way too slow, i tap is awful, camera is very poor, menu system is awful. Handsfree speaker is good, bluetooth very fast. S700 menu is fast, camera is great, loads of memory, very unique design, long battery life, extremly easy to use.
You've already made the correct decision on buying the s700. You will certainly enjoy the phone more.

S700i = probably one of the best camera phones around.
V3 = Best use, wedging doors open in hot weather.
