I just tried this on my 32MB stick, formatted no problem but now it isn't recognised by my P905. It won't even let me reformat it on my phone. Anyone any suggestions how to get it working again?

- What parameters did you use?
- Did you copy all the contents (including hidden files) back to the the MS after the format? (does the MS has a Label?)
- Try a CHKDSK [drive] /F
If only windows recognizes the MS and you can't see any problems with it, I recommend you try formating with a bigger cluster size. Maybe it's some

- I used FORMAT S: /A:4096 /X
- Yes, I copied everything back including hidden files. I tried with & without a label.
- chkdsk reports no problem (the card reader has no problem with the card).
Formatting with anything above 4096 reports "The specified cluster size is too big for FAT16/12."
Any other ideas?

Do you know what was the original FAT format?
Do you know what was the original cluster size?
Try playing with the /FS parameter in FORMAT (FAT/FAT32)
If it fails I suggest you start trying the cluster sizes reported by trublu.
If there is nothing wrong with the MS in Windows, then must be something wrong with the format.
Also try searching past posts in Esato about formating MS in Card Readers.

I had heard there were problems formatting memory sticks via windows. I found some Sony software to do the job. Here is a link to some info and a download
http://www.sonydigital-link.c[....]ads/downloads.asp?l=en&f=MSFRM (Note pic showing 4GB MS

)
I had a problem with a standard memory stick which would not format in camera - started format by windows but would not finish - tried camera again but format would not finish - is not recognised by sony formatting software... Help?

@arvinlad
Sounds to me you have a faulty MS.
Maybe some section of the memory is destroyed.
Flash memory does have a limited ammount of read/write operations before failing.
I would replace it under warranty.
