I think the real question you need to ask yourself is whether you are going to really use the flexibility of Symbian, or whether you would be better off with a non-smartphone which is smaller, faster and has a better camera.

I have the K750i and love it

At the end of the day, it's down to personal choice and personal needs, unless something else appears on the market when I upgrade, I will have a K750, simply because my K700 has done a good job, and with the improvements the new model has makes it an obvious choice for me.

i agree, but as a user that has tested most of current avail phones in the market i can tell you that if someone works for awhile with phones (s)he will get rid of other brands quickly. not because it's too powerful but just for its easiness, user friendly interface, customizable options and so on. (i was a siemens user and nokia fan before using my first SE phone - T610 - but after that, i bought K700i and i can't compare it with all of my previous phones. the only one that i loved was SX1 - its design is something like a trouble but it beats most nokia smartphones produced in a same date)

new nokia phones are mostly based on symbian os, so nokia programmers never work on new stuff at all. only some hardware will be optimized when a new model comes to stores such as camera, internal memory and screen resolution and also the design.
but if we compare products, we can easily find new and amazing features in every new model. a good example here is the difference between K700 and K750 (as you already mentioned).
even if we compare SE smartphones with nokia we can't imagine the differences between P-series (even the old P800) and nokia smartphones.

Great post Sean

I use the 6680 now and have used it in several weeks and all I want to do is to get hold of a K750 or atleast get my K700 back.
Sure, watching TV was cool two or three times. Tried to find stuff on wap where I could have use of 3G, but couldnīt find anything where I did have any huge advantage.
Sony Ericssonīs OS is so much faster and easier. Symbian donīt even have auto keylock (one of hundreds things that annoys me)

@bard108, since K700 and K750 are in a same class they are quite similar to each other but with appreciable improvements in both the hardware and software (as i said above).

so if you like to buy a new phone with completely new design and features, i suggest you buy the nokia phone but if you would like to buy a phone with smaller size and a familiar ui then i highly recommend you buy K750. also if the size and weight doesn't matter for you, take a look at S700 too.

to get more information about these models, use the well known website Mobile-Review.com.

Edit: @Marcus_129, thanks for your comments.

have a good choice,
Sean

This kind of supprised me, i know this is mainly an SE forum but i would have thought the possibilities of symbian would have swayed it, i think i have been shown the right path of the k750, just one thing which bugged me about the K700 software which i hope they have changed; When searching through contacts can you search with more than one letter. Is the arrival of PTT putting anyone of SE phones, they seem to be very late adopters at the mo.

Can you change the message tone on this one or is still to the presets?

yes, there are multi letter contact search on K750 (was also on K700 on later firmwares)

yes, one of the new features compared to K700 are customizable message sounds, using for instance mp3 files.

as i said before, we can see several improvements in K750. multi-char search (also available in K700i R2AA and later firmwares), customizable message ringtone, also all the previous bugs have been fixed now.

Edit: also if you already have doubt about your choice, i suggest you use this forum since it's not related to a specific brand.

Looks like itīs just 14 year old crack whores on that forum.

Itīs as simple as Sean said before.
If you need to use a GPS or some word and excel, then buy 6680.

If you want a great phone with nice features and a great OS, then buy K750.

6680 is bigger, worse menus, atleast as much bugs and so on.
Itīs just the function of GPS or word and excel and stuff.
Theres atleast as many good games to K750 as 6680.
