Then if thats the case, then if possible i'd suggest bluetooth if the files are just pictures, but if its full .m4a (aac) music albums then bluetooth is way to slow for them, it takes too long for me..
P.S. can't you just use the memory pro-duo sticks that have the pics stored on and use the adaptor (thats not too big too carry round is it

that may be easier)

bluetooth isnt really a common feature on computers (other than macs) so thats kinda out of the question.
i want to use the k750 as a thumb drive for convenience since i always have my phone wit me. i have an actual thumb drive if i really wanted to use it. but like i said this is a convenience factor (well i guess i still have to carry the damn cable but still)
also, how come my mac doesnt need any drivers to see it as a removable drive and windows does!

thats because microsoft are a lot like vodafone (sounds stupid i know) but think about it they take the best products then slap some stupid branding and useless firmware all over them, thats why i stick to my Mini G4 Mac

god i love it..
My advice to you then, BUY AN APPLE MAC, got it
>> otherwise hows the option of the card-reader may i just add?

i do use a mac haha..
but like i said my purpose was for use with other computers other than my own (n 95% of the world uses windows).
i was hoping i could get rid of my thumb drive all together but i guess not.
card reader idea is good. i have one also. but id rather drag around my thumb drive than a card reader.
oh well.. i hope at least others will find this thread usefull as reference.
thanks all who replied

this has to be a phone issue as i was expecting the same thing, stuck it in ad it wants drivers! I hope the next firmware update fixes this silly glitch!

it'll be a driver issue in xp. Even though xp sp2 has very up to date drivers, some newer usb thumb based devices seem to need drivers loaded, however you can use windows update rather than pull out the cd if the machine is connected to the net

Every device needs a driver. When peolpe say "it doesn't need a driver"... it simply means that windows comes with the drivers and you won;t need to go sticking disks/cd's in the drives.
Upon first connection any thumb drive, it will ask you to install drivers, and this is normally just a case of continually pressing "next, next etc".. until the drive appears.

can you just " IR " it??.. it will recognize the phone, then it will search for the drivers via Windows update. Once it recognizes the phone, then you can IR the files!...
I didnt need the CD to install the drivers on my PC (XP), Windows update found the necessary drivers and voila!

@ neox
I/R is like what i said about BlueTooth but if you have no I/R port then he wants USB cable..even though it means he has to carry the cable round with him

Well anyway i found this topic very hard to understand but i think the basic answer to the question is NO you can't.

Erm actually from the above replies the answer is "Yes.. So long as windows has updated its drivers or has access to"
So if you're taking it to a mates, plug it in, if it doesn't do it, windows update while its plugged in and that should help.
