precisely the reason why we encourage members to buy from official sources only, so that they can avail of the 7 return, 1 year warranty policy.

Yeah?!
I know what you mean.
I was on vacation in Manila last year, I asked a sales-guy about the policies they had on returns and exchanges... his smile turned into a grimace and gave me this "are you freaking nuts!?" kind of look. Then I found out that they were almost all B-class/damaged and repaired phones smuggled from hong kong or some other chopstick-utilizing country. That's why I am so discouraged by the idea of buying a phone worth more than 200 dollars there in the Phlippz.
Anywayz, who gives a shoot what I think...?
Just a thought...

@rawknee
any comment on using your k750i? anong firmware gamit? made in china?
@mahdogzbite
if you save Php4000 approx USD70 on buying a cellphone with a 3-day warranty rather than official ones, that's still Php4000 you saved. that's how it goes here for most people, in my opinion. if there's any defect, and you've harassed the salesperson to no avail, you just live with it or maybe shell out some more to get it fixed there or somewhere else.. or people just don't see the whole "choose between 1 year warranty or limited warranty and risks" and just buy from the store offering the lowest price..

I bought it with R1A firmware, then updated it with R1L through SEUS. Yup, it's made in China.
Honestly, I tried to update it just for kicks. But then I noticed some problems were solved after I did the update -- voice quality was quite louder during calls, the MP3 volume went up a tad, and the shortcut setting problem I mentioned in another thread was solved.
2 weeks already... so far so good... Video quality they say went down a bit in the latest firmware but I don't have any comparison since I updated it first before using the video function. Picture quality for me is excellent (this is subjective) even after the firmware update.

if you want, you may try at Alabang Town Center (in Muntinlupa), because that's where i bought my k700i (last June 19, 2005)... the SE shop in Glorietta's Digital Exchange, although more pricey, would be a good shot, since they are one of the "original" retailers (correct me if i am wrong...)
