In order for O2 to keep existing customers, i.e. they ask for their PAC number in order to transfer to an alternative provider, O2 tend to give discounts to their existing customers.

While you are in contract with O2 you earn what are esentially loyalty points, so when you say you'll leave them they look at your staus and give you a nice deal.

It's good if you're an existing customer, but for new customers you're pretty much stuck with what they have instor and online...... and i've tried

It's a pity orange don't help you out when you think you're paying too much

@ilovewilf

Same thing happened to me with Voda. I wasn't happy with aspects of their service (overbranding on phones) so I asked for my PAC. I was intending to leave for O2.

A couple of days later Voda rang me up & they offered me a retention deal on a new batch of K750i's that can play MP3 ringtones. I took it as it was a free upgrade on a £15 a month contract for 100 mins with 50 texts.

Unlike other networks, Voda's unused monthly minutes still rollover on lower tariffs. Thankfully, the Voda branding on the K750i isn't too bad.
