Batesie has made a valid point there in the sense that it really does not matter what Nigeria's position is on any list. Even if my country topped that list, it still would be wrong for anyone to apply hasty generalization of all Nigerians. It is unjust. Simple.

Yes; our government needs to sit up. Yes; a number of Nigerians need to be apprehended for these despicable acts they commit daily.

But what's wrong is simply that - wrong. Treating me like a leper when I have done nothing wrong is itself a wrong approach and that too should be condemned in totality.

hopefully the ones creating a bad name can be tortured by making them read the spam emails they send a million times with forced sleep depravation before cutting their hands off.

@batesie: Now you've got me cracking. And this is probably the first laugh I am having since my order was turned down by Handango yesterday.

@KBR, beg to differ. You say the Nigerians here in SA "in general"? That's not what i've found, bro. The vast majority are courteous, well-spoken and honest ppl. Like with any nationality, it only takes the wrongdoing by a handful to cast a shadow over the majority. This message was posted from a Nokia

Well said. It seems a lot of people are unnecessarily prejudiced in this matter. If you speak with anyone who has done business or interacted with myself and the people I hang out with, they would tell you that Nigerians are honest, pleasant people.

Just because you met the bad guys does not mean the majority of us are like them.

But back to the point I am driving home: whatever your experiences, perceptions or prejudices are, it is wrong, unjust, unfair and a rape on humanity for anyone to discriminate against a man who has done nothing wrong, and simply because he shares the same nationality with a bunch of thieves he has previously run into.

What Handango (the online shop where I attempted to purchase ProfiMail from) practices is terrible and immoral, and should be condemned. Anyone who agrees to such a practice is just as bad and deserves the same damnation.

Can't you sue Handango for that behaviour?
Where are they based?

KBR, in Port Elizabeth we have the same situation, yet ironically many different nationalities are involved. And once again, the vast majority of brothers i've met from African countries are decent folk. I break bread with them, have them as guests in my home, and find no fault in those whom i know.
