Sandisk Actually make memory sticks for sony hence the fact that most se phones are supplied with sandisk and not only that the 4GB flash memory within the w950i is also manufactured by sandisk and not sony!!

Well I just bought 2 Sandisk M2 card (512MB and 1GB) from parallel importer (not authorised Sandisk dealer in my country) for cheaper price. Then I ask Sandisk whether they are genuine or fake and they just replied that both are genuine. Ppl who wants to confirm their memory can go to Sandisk website and supply their tech support with the close-up picture of the memory.

I think ppl who said non-Sony is fake does not realised that even Sony work together with Sandisk when creating Memory Stick. I would not hesitate to buy Sandisk brand at all as they are the leading name in flash memory game.

I agree, in fact what I meant by quote "Cards from legitimate manufacturers other than sony are not fake. Fake cards are a copy of a legitimate brand name (usually Sony)" is that just because it doesn't have "Sony" on it, doesn't mean it's a fake. Some people have tried to tell me "non-sony" cards are "fake". I'm saying exactly what you said ie: Fake cards don't have their own brand, they are a copy of another brand. Notice I said "usually sony", I didn't mean "always" Sony.

One of the modus of fake Sandisk Extreme CF card is actually genuine Sandisk brand with lower level/slower CF (selling a plain/ultra Sandisk and re-label it as Sandisk Extreme card). So you still got quite robust card (as it is still genuine Sandisk) but just slower.

I just bought an Sandisk M2 for my K800, 512 MB size, and after i make an format card i see that my size on card is 467 MB, not 512 MB or something closer. Is that normal ? I know that he (card) need some space for the menu application, but i think that difference is to much. Any opinions ?
Thanks !
