are apple ipod hard drives the same as apple ibook ones?

I am talking about physical size, ie dimensions. Hence are there interchangable.

nope a 3rd 4th and 5th gen ipods use 1.8 inch hard drives, whereas a ibook uses a 2.5 inch hard disk. If you need either pm me or post here and I can steer you in the right direction

Is there anyway I can import all the editied work I have done already onto into this new format, or do I have to start again?

I'm not sure if this will work, as I have no W/S foootage to test with but...

1) Make a new empty Widescreen iMovie project
2) Open the old 4:3 ratio iMovie project
3) Arrange the windows so you can see both timelines
4) Select all in the old 4:3 timeline and drag to the new WS project timeline

Here's a few tools to help:

To extract the footage from the DVD:
MacTheRipper 2.6.6
Yade X

To convert the extracted footage to other formats:
MPEG Streamclip 1.5.1

damn it,ive just relised. the discs my sony camera takes are the small ones. so wont work in my imac as it has a slot loading drive and is likely to get stuck!
