I've used mine for about 30 mins in the car at a time and haven't seen the battery come down.
I guess it'd be a nice feature to have if you were on a long road trip or using at a friends place to play through the stereo. But who carries their phone charger around with them anyway?

the SE car charger has a pass through port - you can plug an accessory into the back of the plug - so with the SE car charger you can charge and use an accessory at the same time.
I have that charger, so it will only be a problem for me when using the fm transmitter for long duration when not in the car. In my own car I have an fm transmitter permanently installed in line with the car aerial. this transmitter runs off the car battery. So I don't need the mmr-60 when I'm in the Pug.
Mostly I want the mmr-60 for those occasions I'm in someone else's car or at a friends place and want to play music from my phone. The only time lack of a passthrough port will be a problem is when playing music through the transmitter for long durations when not in a car. Those times are rare.

@max-wedge i think you have the transmitter that i'm looking for. So your transmitter is not wireless, right. Could you please tell me more about your transmitter, sound quality and where i can buy it???
Thanks in advance.

most automotive car sound stores will have such things. It's an fm transmitter that wires into the car wiring loom for power (no batteries to replace). The fm output goes inline with the car aerial, so the signal from the fm transmitter pumps straight into your car stereo's antenna input - metal to metal - no air gap
A 1.5m lead with a left and right rca plug leads from where the transmitter is installed under the dash to the centre console, where you can plug any sound source you like.
I have one of the quick touch buttons on the radio programmed to the station that I get the best reception most of the time, so listening to my phone or listening to a "real" radio station is as easy as pressing a botton on the car stereo.
Quality is EXCELLENT. This is not like the tunecast, which is "fair". The audio through the transmitter is as good as normal radio with perfect reception.

Thanks max_wedge. Do you have the brand name of the transmitter, because things in Israel maybe defferent from the place you live in. I never heard about wired fm transmitters here. Only with the old CD changers and it was at least 5 years ago. I tried to search the ebay, but founf only wireless stuff.

I can't remember the brand and it's hidden under the dash
But this is the sort of thing you want:

I notice the FM modulator has RCA inputs, is there an accessory that allows me to plug my phone into those inputs?

all you need is an rca to 3.5mm adapter for the transmitter and a fastport to 3.5mm adapter (or the HPM70) forthe phone.
