I've tried using the SEUS with the USB cable and nothing ever happens.

It tells me to to remove the battery and SIM card, then put the battery back in and plug the USB cable back into the phone while holding down the 'C' key but nothing happens.

Are you meant to turn the phone on again before holding down 'C' and plugging the cable back in, or leave it off, and what's supposed to happen next?

you have to hold down the c button for a few seconds after pluggin in the usb cable. If you do what the instructions tell you, it should work

Yes, I realise that and I did follow the instructions, as I have already said. My point was that when I do that, nothing at all happens, so I was asking if I'm meant to turn the phone on again before holding down the 'C' button and plugging in the USB cable, as doing it with the phone switched off doesn't seem to do anything!!

Hmm... Are the USB drivers correctly installed? Are you using SEUS for the first time?

As for whether the USB drivers are installed, yes, USB drivers are fine and yes, I am using SEUS for the first time.

I did try updating a friend's K750i with it too a while ago and nothing happened with that either.

did you use a file named EPIUSB.INT to install your W810/other phones when you first connected your phone to your PC?

I don't think so. I installed the SE PC File Manager program, then downloaded and installed the SEUS, which updated its own files.

I just tried connecting my W810i again and what happens is, I start the SEUS app, go through the options of country and connector-type, then take the battery out of the phone, and remove the SIM, put the battery back in and connect the USB cable, holding down the 'C' button as it says in the instructions.

Nothing at all happens for about a minute and then the phone switches itself on, in File Transfer mode and the PC displays the phone's folders etc, but the SEUS screen remains on the instruction page and eventually just reverts back to its frontpage again.

What's actually supposed to happen??

i'm not sure why, but i find that when you manually install your phone when windows detects it instead of having windows install it automatically, the SEUS update works thereafter. i'm not quite sure about the technicality of removing your W810 as a device on your computer and then reinstalling it manually. what i did was to do it over again on another computer.

Maybe it's not using the USB driver within the SEUS folder and is using a driver from SE PC Suite?

I'm removing PC suite so hopefully it'll ask for a driver again and I can point it to the one in the Update Service folder...

Right, well, it's become clear that I'm not using the right driver.

However, I cannot uninstall whatever driver the PC is using to access my phone so that it brings up the "Found New Hardware Wizard" to enable me to point it to the right driver.

I've put the correct driver in the Drivers folder on the PC and restarted but SEUS still doesn't see the phone.

How do I get it to try to install the phone again so I can make it use the Update Service driver??
