e.g
Buy the w850, u will feel let down that they have taken auto focus away from you , even though they could so easily leave it in.
Buy the k800, and you will feel hard doen by as you have no where near as much memory as the walkman phones, and you don't get a newer software for playing your tunes.
I wish se would pull them selves together and just get back to making good phones, for everyone, at the same time. Lets see all the best features in one phone. Is it that much to ask for? a 3.2cam, walkman phone with 1gb card, xenon flash and good quality video...
This is what nokia have realised and are starting to show in their n series phones...all round competitors.
The way se are trying to put us in groups, single us off, force us into buying what they want us to buy...by sacraficing parts of the phone...its just stupid...

Couldn't agree more.
I agree too. SE would be more competitive if they released the same phone in different packages and price them a little differently (k750/w800). And do this for the diferent price ranges. W850 will be quite expensive, enough to include AF. The w700 wont be expensive enough.
The current product offering is good products (only as good as other manufacturers) with a very evident flaw in one area for all expensive and cheap phones.

How is it compared to a W900 size while opened?
I hate my w900 when I put it in my shirt's pocket I hope the w850 will be smaller and lighter.
Any price expectation and release date yet?

@arj2442 - speaking of all around good phones, we shouldn't forget making them quadband, EDGE AND 3g capable (again, something that Nokia seems to be doing without a problem. It just amazes me that SE is so hard set on dividing the markets, not just geographically but functionally, instead of making one product that will sell EVERYWHERE and apeal to EVERYONE's desires.
When talking about making a Walkman (tm
) phone with a weak camera, it reminds me of what a friend of mine told me a while back - he rides a motorcycle and had come to my party and said: " I can go without a drink all night, but I can't go with just one..." If you give us a camera, you can't cheap out and not make it either the best, or at least CURRENT with the rest of your 1 year+ product line...

If
wants to build a definite range of music and imaging phones then I don't understand why people are disappointed when a Walkman phone cam doesn't have AF.
When the K750/w800 was launched
was effectively using the one model to compete in a number of segments.
What we will see this year is a definite range of Walkman phones and a definite range of imaging handsets. If a Cybershot handset doesn't have a full Walkman player I can understand why. The W950i doesnt have a cam!
I still reckon that we will see a killer phone though, if not this year then next. Right now I think the W900 is still up there.

As I mentioned the white W850 earlier, it finally looks like Eldar has given his review of it:

Wow.. the Walkman interface looks really slick. This could be a true killer Walkman phone finally. Pity there's no native 3.5mm socket, but I guess thats what the HPM-82 will be for!

@ goldenface
Yeh, i know yiu shouldn't expect a good cam in a walkman phone and vice versa...but the point me ant 'tervel' are getting at, is that se should stop worrying baout all these new lines of phones, and start bringing out truly great phones. They ar ebeing by passed by nokia for funcitonality this year...they are simply putting all their best things into one or 2 phones...making the best phones thay can...
se have the capability to put a 3.2 camera with video quality up to the standard of w900, with a a top class walkman player, 3g and edge, bluetooth v2 and wifi all in one handset. Why Do We Not See This??? It's crazy...

A definite range leaves no one happy, well not many. A mixed range leaves you with the design accesories and style you prefer, more people are satisfied. Though my main point is that the w850 is expensive enough to have AF included, w700 you can understand.
Anyway, what would people prefer, a 2.0mpx without AF or a 1.3mpx with AF?
I'd definately go for the 1.3mpx with AF.
