> Nokia N73 vs SE K800i which is better?
Bookmark topic
Well after having a lil whizz on both phones today, I went ahead and bought the N73. Takes some getting used after so long with an SE phone.
The joystick is very stiff and my finger is hurting now after around 30 mins of usage.
I have had no freezing, ok maybe a lil and the camera does take a ridiculas amount of time to load up.
I still have 14 days to return it so this is not a done deal yet, but so far not so good.

The biggest problem with symbian phones is the amountof bugs incurred when using the phone.
In fact since the first n range i dont think theres been a single symbian nokia phone which hasnt been subjects to silly bugs.
Examples of this are the poor quality of the n73 and n80 video which fails vastly with older Nokia models.
Codecs are rubbish and nokias cant handle (bar the n93/n95) most videos in mp4 format that SE phones can take.

Yo are telling that everyone who goes for K800 is crap....and defendining nokia no matter what....I said I liked mo k800 because of my needs but you keep on defending nokia in every post....so what are yo doing in a SONY ERICSSON forum?
Why would i say K800 is better? Thats not my opinion. It doesnt matter which forum i am in. I will voice my opinion with solid reasoning, not by saying stuff like K800 rulez and Nokia is crap!!

Lol..another fanboy post above. what a lovely subjective statement.lol.
If I would be a fan boy I would say K800 is better and I just said that I didnt like symbian and that the camera is better on K800 and I have read some reviews that prove me right
well, reviews are opinion's....and there are a few reviews that favour the n73 generally...i loved the k800i, but when the joystick broke, after only 3 months of ownership...i had to change it...and i'm glad i did.

if you have actually used the phones you'll see major differeences.....
overall the e series performers better then the n series by far.. more stable, battery management and memory management are better
the n80 built like a piece of trash with horrid battery
teh n73 good battery, decent cam except for the blue mist.. but the UI is slowwww.. heck i've had it lock up so many times trying to open the galleryy.. that's cause nokia is stupid for mixing video and images together in the n series
other complaints about the n73.. the leypad sucks.. the build is creaky and the joystick has broken off a few that i know of
the n93.... lol huge,, great concept but the cam sucks, video is great but have you everr made a cal with it?... the hinge part digs into your face a very uncomfortable feeling

Piece of trash? LOL
Ive had both phones and in terms of build there both as good as each other. Infact the joystick of my first n73 fell off and this is not an isolated case.
And in regards to the purple mist dont you think its so silly how Nokia have not solved this problem after a few firmware updates let alone acknowledged it.
In fact they still havent even solved the fuzzy video problem on the n80 let alone the n73. Symbiam is all good but to be honest I hardley use it for anything but again thats just my opinion.
For pictures in daytime both take as good as each other but I think the fact that in the time it takes the n73 to take just 1 pic and save it you could have taken 2 or 3 with the k800 swings it in SEs favour.
Playback of video is limited in the n73 even with smartmovie capabilities.
Where as on the k800 you can get high quality mp4 vids that would only work on the n93.

From technology aspect N73 is far ahead of K800. For those who are into tech and like advanced pda functions or customisability, they would not even consider a K800.
For the rest of buyers, they will buy based on personal preferences and specs like camera. On this account, N73 photos are better than K800 according to a survey by M-R where 50% of those participated said N73 is the best, 30% said N93 and only a miserable 20% said K800 is the best. This is solid proof from the public that N73 photo is better instead of from some reviewers or heresay in forums.

For video recording and other software capabilites there is no need to talk further. N73 beats the K800. Likewise for screen. If you take out personal preferences, N73 is just the better phone than K800, period.
