I do have a question though, does anyone know how to reach the 'status' screen on a flipless p990i? With the flip it's More - Status, from the FC home screen. I cannot find it in FO/flipless mode, and it's pretty useful to see the free memory when trying to work out why application X or Y won't load up properly.
If anyone knows that one, do share, thanks.
Curious about this too.... hope someone can chime in if this is possible in FO mode.

Anyone else having trouble connecting their Mac to their P990 through USB? I set the USB device connection on the P990i to File Transfer mode but when I plug it into the USB port of either my G4 laptop or my G5 desktop, I don't see the usual memory stick view pop up on my desktop.
Is there something else I need to do at either end or is this a known problem?

We.. you can reach the status-info but by some strange reason there isn't any info about the free memory in that when you got flip open.
In tools, press "tools" at the top. In the dropdown you can choose "system info" or something like that... (I use the swedish setting so I don't know exacly... you'll figure it out.)
But as I said... no info about free memory there... but everything else seems to be there.

My P990 has a bug where it restarts if the wireless access point its connected to is switched off. It also does this if the access point its connected to goes out of range. I've doen the software update, but it doesn't seem to have resolved this problem.
Additonally, the phone seems to freeze when the flip is opened in certain situations. For example, if I'm viewing a picture and open the flip to view the picture full screen, the phone will often freeze.

I have a problem with the alarm! It seems to save the last time as well as the new time.
For example.. in sunday I had the alarm at 10:30 to wake up.
I changed that for this morning to ring at 8:00... and it did.
But it also did go off at 10:30!!!
Have had the same problem the other way! And then it's really annoying... When it go off at 8:00 when you want it to go off a couple of hours later!
Damn SE with these small bugs.. Don't want to return the whole phone for a problem like this.. It would take ages for them to see whats wrong.. Since then problem can only appear once a day.

I have my P990i since Thursday. I bought it for € 649,- at Belcompany in Amsterdam (without being on any list).
My first impression is that I am somewhat disappointed by the overall quality. Rather large pixels on the screen (compared to a N80).
The phone crashes regularly (with that annoying comment that it restarted to improve memory usage... yeah right!)
Wifi and UMTS work fine. The browser is somewhat instable.
What I find highly annoying is the fact that the phone book shows contacts like 'Last name, first name'. Especially in a country where 50% of the surnames start with 'Van ...' Aaarggh! Does anybody know of a way to change this?
I hope new firmware will make this phone better rapidly, otherwise I'm afraid I will have to go back to my N80 (with pain in my heart)

with the flip open, go to main menu> contacts> settings> sort by> first name, last name.

got mine today, few bugs I've encountered so far
EVERY time I receive a message , it comes up with an error message and closes the messaging app. and it doesn't display the little envelope icon, so if I don't hear the message alert,I've got no idea I've received a message.
also,I am unable to change the background on flip open/closed.
and the phone has restarted a couple of times to "improve performance"
right, i got my phone replaced and updated the software.
the phone still comes up with an error message when i get an MMS,and closes the messaging app, but at least now it beeps to tell me ive got a message and displays the little envelope on screen(which it didnt before)
and i can now change the background.
so some problems fixed,some not.
roll on the next f/w update!

Bluesun,
Thanks a million for that. I completely missed out on the scroll bar in the pop up menu
