Hi!
After updating, I can't seem to add the Ad-Hoc Bluetooth PAN to the internet group. Is it just me or same for you guys? TIA.
Haven't tried to use the ad-hoc with an internet - account (and to be honest, I'm not sure if I ever could add it to the internet - group), but the firmware surely did SOMETHING to mess with the bluetooth PAN.
I use the widcomm stack and it reports my m600's PAN - service as "Personal ad-hoc user service" as opposed to "Group ad-hoc". Which means that I can only connect to the ad-hoc separate, and not to any other BT - accounts that I ahve put in any groups (I believe)
This may be false since there may be some settings that I must fiddle with to enable both the personal and the group ad-hoc, but I'm not sure...
THis, however, has made the TOSHIBA-stack on my laptop lose all PAN-connection to my m600 altogether. Strange, since that one was working right out of the box with R4A when the widcomm on my desktop was giving me headaches for a week.

Sorry if i missed this but i cannot seem to find anything about it:
What's this new registering thing with a SMS? Why is it doing that and why do you have to accept it?

I haven't tried it yet, but maybe pressing the BACK button cancels it...

I had no back option when i got it, just a short message to register at SE for the standard operator fee. Then only an option to accept.
I thought it would be some service that registered your phone so stolen phones easier could be traced since you had no option to stop it. (If so then it's only good

)

Hi all,
I did get this sending a registration sms message but having just checked my sent messages there is nothing there which is kind of strange IMO. I mean whats that all about then ? it makes no sense.

Ah of course didn't try the key itself
But anyone know what it is for?

i suspect that the SMS registration is for some sort of marketing or internal purpose of SE, in terms of monitoring where the phones are ultimately "activated", i.e., country and network. this would be especially interesting for them maybe in tracking where grey market phones eventually turn up. just a guess...
my K800 also sent an SMS registration message when it was new. it seems to be implemented on the new models, just like having to enter a PIN when receiving the network settings.
