Cheers guys.
Yeah it was a great day. Up at 5.45am to catch the cruise at 7am. It costed around $200NZ per person. The day started off raining and fined up by lunchtime, and this made all the waterfalls all the more spectacular as the rain coming down through the mountains meant more waterfalls and bigger ones too. The sun came out and I caught some nice shots of the sun's reflection on the water.

I think any of those three could easily win the competition, as well is your actual entry! Looks like you've been holidaying!
Nice shots carkitter!

Thanks! All the Locations are within 30mins drive of where I live and I did travel to Orewa with the intention of finding something to post in the comp. I didn't get to snap my ideal photo which would have been waves crashing against the seawall at Murrays Bay. The light/weather conditions/tides/time available just didn't align. I'll try for that another time.

Well you're lucky to live near such beautiful places! I guess I do too here in Chch, but I never visit them. Should be going to the beach next week though, so I might take some shots!
Though, I've just bought a new Sony digital camera so perhaps I will use that instead

Took the family out to East Auckland today for some swimming.
Visited Bucklands Beach, Musick Point and Eastern Beach - fantastic weather!

That concrete structure is a former Army Bunker. All mountains overlooking the Waitemata Harbour have them because in 1900 they believed the Russians were coming to invade us.

Apparently the Army used to place targets on the harbour and practiced shooting at them from gun emplacements on certain mountains. They never managed to hit the target once! Good thing the Russians never came...
