Stuck here in Melbourne, so that's the closest I'll be getting to one.
We don't even have a proper SE Service Centre to my knowledge

somebody give this guy due credit for the hard work!
around here in phil (at least around where I live), it's not uncommon to have live phones in-store, although i'm seeing a trend where shops are now putting dummies instead

I purchased A SonyEricsson w380i phone and 2GB memory stick and an O2 sim card. The phone was triband and unlocked which was what I wanted as I live in the USA. Well I had an Apple laptop with me so waited till I got back to CA on April 4th. I loaded the software on a Widows PC. However when I lodaed music files to it using the software the phone went dead. It goes on for 5 -10 seconds and vibrates for 1 second then the software in the phone does not initiate and it stays with a 'lit' black screen.
I called the store and they referred me to Sony Erricsson Repair Center who could not repair it as if I posted to them they would not post it to an address outside the UK. The store wont deal with it. I paid 79 pounds for this phone 2 weeks ago and I have an expensive dead brick. SonyEricsson in the USA want $125.00 to repair it. They refuse to repair it under warranty as they say the phone was purchased outside the USA.
Tell me why other than to have a phone that works outside the UK and on foreign networks would one buy an unlocked phone. I give this store and Sony Ericsson a 0/10 grade for their customer support.
