Yes you can flash with generic /1 /2 etc.

And I would imagine the answer to the second question is by recorded mail lol.

so basically in a nutshell, all i need to have done to my phone is to get the cda changed and then i can get the latest firmware from SE soon as they release it ? ( as in get my orange cda changed to the world generic one?)

Yes, but to do that it needs debranded with the new version of the FW.

got mine too a couple of hours ago, debranded on the spot actually

no probs or whatsoever, the generic firmware is so much better (both function and design-wise) than the vodafone one. Anyone still with a vodafone branded m600i I 'd definitely recommend sendin it to Coxy.

Got mine back from COXY too. Fantastic sevice would recommend his services to anyone. Debranding from Vodafone was the best thing Ive ever done. For the first time my P990 actually works!. No memory probs, fast menus, really pleased.
