The flash menu should work as the phone is flash menu capable. It's just a walkman fever

What's the real weight of K550i?

SE website says it weights 85gr. Eldar in his review says 95gr. W610i which is the same size as K550i weights 95gr. K550i should be even a bit heavier because of the metal (?) lens cover.

So where's the truth?

I love this phone, especially for a "mid-range" phone. Nice size - very pocketable. And the speakerphone feature is fantastic. Loud and clear. Camera is very good, not excellent, but definitely very good. I do wish the screen was larger, but that's one of the trade-offs for such a nice compact overall size. Moving files from my Mac to the K550i via bluetooth is a wonderfully smooth and simple process. Likewise, beaming contacts and calendar items from my now retired Treo is very convenient.

Because it's not a smartphone I'm not supposed to complain too much about the weak calendar function. It's the same app on all the K-series phones, and it sucks. Always has, and coming from a Treo I know a good calendar when I see it. That's about the only thing the Treo did really well. To help in this area I suggest anybody with a K-series phone who's not happy with the calendar get MobyToday. It comes with a 20 day trial period where you use the app for free and decide if you want to pony up the $9 for a registered copy. I bought it before the trial period was even over. Similar to Windows Mobile's "Today" page, it shows tasks and calendar appointments in aganda format. You can minimize it so it's running in the background and call it up when you want to see what's coming up on your schedule. Because it's a java app running in the background it has no noticable effect on battery life.

It's a quad-band phone so reception is practically guaranteed anywhere but the deepest wilderness. I suppose when the new-ness wears off I might flash it to K610 status for the Walkman software but for now it's become my everyday phone.

Itīs still actually very nice. I have had the K550 for 7 weeks, and it almost still look like new. Iīm carefull with my phones, but not extremly unordinary.

Maybe itīs dificult to see in the picture I took, but itīs not scratchy.

So, Iīm very happy with my K550. (both screen and overall performance.
