Yet more inaccurate information being posted as 'facts'.
Please, if you're going to post here, at least back-up your claims with links to the source of your so-called 'facts'.
The browser claim has already been proved to be nothing more than an Apple boast
Show us this proof.
the sms feature needs to be supported at both ends and by both Networks
No, it doesn't. You are just 100% wrong. SMS does not require any additional different support from the network. Other phones in the past have had SMS's displayed in an Instant Messaging format. Nothing new.
The Visual Voicemail feature does need network support however.
Not everyone either uses iTunes
Everyone who uses an iPod does - and the iPhone is basically an iPod, and is likely to appeal to current and potential iPod purchasers.
8 (or 6) taps to make a call
Actually if you
watch the videos, you can see it takes as little as 3 taps:
1) Tap the phone icon
2) Tap the contacts name
3) Tap the number to call
You may need to scroll through your list of contacts in-between taps 2 and 3
Compare that to the number of button presses on my Sony Ericsson W610, K510, K800 etc.
1) Enter phonebook via shortcut (if set-up)
2) Press down at least once to reach the contact
3) Press call to dial contacts default number
You may need to press down any number of times between presses 2 and 3 to reach the contact you want.
So that's a minimum of 3, but more likely many more to reach a specific contact.
Or, as the phone is set-up by default...
1) Press 'Menu' to enter main menu
2) Press Down to highlight Contact icon
3) Press Select to enter phone book
4) Press Down (any number of times) to highlight a contact. Or press a number key (up to 3 times) to jump to first contact starting with a particular letter
5) Press Right (up to 4 times) to select a non-default number
6) Press Call
So thats a minimum of 6 button presses, or 10 or more to call a specific contacts non-default number.
(Both the iPhone and SE phones have shortcuts (quickdial etc.) too, but this is the default way to dial.)

Oh, thanks masseur! 160 dpi, i wonder how it compares to other high-res phones out there. I'll check it out and post my findings..
@Everyone else, cool down people, let's just wait and see.
It seems iPhone has its advantages, the interface is cool i don't think anyone would refuse to give it a try. And the screen is huge, and it will be a pleasure to look at. But there are some other things that just suck - no mp3 ringtones, embedded battery, no vid. why leave these out?
Don't fight over marketing strategies of giant corporations please.

jSloopJohnB:
You can browse a webpage by tapping, zooming and moving your finger...browse through all your songs and videos by just ´flicking´ your finger...U can change photos by moving your finger and u can zoom in by ´pinching out´ the picture
So is this suppose to bring "revolutionary" improvement in ease of use? What is the different betw this and using the stylus on a WM? Can it beat the speed of using "hotkeys" to perform actions. I bet it can't.
8 taps to make a call? WTF? Hit the phone button, 'flick 'through your contacts (looks very responsive and easy), hit a contact, press his/her number, done. Thats 4 taps, not 8.
A review said 6 taps not 4. (You forgot steps to unlock the screen). My mistake on 8 taps. But this surely cannot beat speed dial using keypad or voice dial (which iphone dont support). If you throw away all the gimmicks, the iphone UI is worse at "ease of use" factor.
iPhone handles sms as ichat conversations
My N95 can do this with an add-on app. I also have call manager on my N95 handles all my calls (like answering machine / black/white list). I also have add-on app to schedule my sms and...well, lots of other stuff which Iphone can never have (because it is a close platform

).

seen the hi-res pics, seen the specs, seen the videos of it in use.
then compared it to all the hype.
im pretty sure i can make a judgement on this already a seriously doubt actually using it is going to change that!
