@Boinng

Agreed the Ram will be of benefit but as it is still being driven by the Nexperia chip and the OS has been enhanced as in the home screen with all the extra shortcuts i am curious to see how the P1 performs speed wise as i found my M600 deadly slow in everything it did it drove me nuts. This is why i would like to know the times for those tasks as they are quite simple tasks.

agree with Dogmann....I also would like to see the speed of opening applications. The N95 is quick at that, but I have my doubts about the P1i....a plus is that at least it will have more RAM, so I may be able to live with the slower speed.

speed is my second priority as long as it's still reasonable. most importabt is stability in running multitasking

I'll post my question again, for the reviewer...

So does this P1i has the option to store emails to memory card instead of phone's internal memory?

@Sir-SonyEricsson-man

Can you make these pointless bickerings worth the while by answering the questions that are already piling up. It'll mean so much to us, thank you. My P990 just got soaked in the swimming pool, so I'm kinda considering P1 as an option. My main concerns are:

1)Speed as mentioned by Dogmann
2)ability to store emails on external memory as mentioned by pnoytechie (although I think 160mb internal memory would be sufficient for me)

Having read through the past few pages after not visiting for a few days:

@pnoytechie

I haven't seen the option to store emails on the memory card on my prototype handset. I'd be surprised if the feature makes it on to a retail one.

@mortengutt

It's my prototype handset that had the iPhone themes on it (a video was made by an Esatonian who was at the SE store when I was last in there). I'm sure I got the .rar wit the .png files in ti from here, but it was removed shortly afterwards. If you contact me with your email address, I can send it to you.

@tkao2025

I've had my P1i running easily 10+ applications with no sign of slow down at times (including the memory hungry TomTom6 that need about 2000kb of memory to run).

@Doggmann

I did do a timing of my prototype booting up to the normal desktop a while back, it came in at 1min 20sec if I remember correctly (slower than my P990i with current updated firmware). Not completely trustworthy as it is a prototype, so I'd await SSEM's input on that.

With regards to the LED, I have no problems with it's placement. I can keep the phone (upside down) in my jean/inside coat pocket and look down to the status bar to see if there are any messages/missed calls to review without having to take out the handset (especially handy if it's raining). I agree with Boinng on this, as my P1i is normally lying back down on my desk at work with a charger plugged in if neccessary, so the placement of the status light is a good choice in that respect.
