you restore the default icons. Also you can edit a menu.ml file to use default embedded icons for some menu items, and your own modded icons for others.

In menu.ml, there are these lines that set the icon that will be displayed
PREPLAY_DESKTOP_ICN
PREPLAY_DESKTOP_SELECTED_ICN
RN_SHORTCUT_LIST_PREPLAY_ICN

PREPLAY_DESKTOP_ICN in this case is the "Play Now" inselected icon.

If you write this instead, it uses your own icon file:

icon1_unselected.png
icon1_selected.png
RN_SHORTCUT_LIST_DB_ICN


The icon file "icon1_unselected.png" is saved in the same folder as the menu.ml file. The "shortcut" list icon will be the standard one in this case (RN_SHORTCUT_LIST_DB_ICN)

So you can mix and match default icons with home made.

coz i realy didnt get any of it

my phone is k800i R1KG001 CID52

i tried downloading 3-5 Different original k800i Menu.ml
But i am not sure if thy have the "play Now"
and "video call " icons in them .

and correct me if i am wrong
if i got the menu.ml that i am looking for (video call & play now)
and restore them in any case ill restore
the original k800i icons ???

and after i went through the thread
is it true that u cant back up files from k800i CID52???
if not how can i ???

THERE are NO ICONS in menu.ml file. The menu.ml file is a text file that tells the phone where to look for icons.

The default menu icons are in MAIN FIRMWARE. You cannot extract them. To "get back" original icons, you use an original menu.ml file. This file will tell the phone to look in MAIN FIRMWARE for the icons.

If you want to use your own icons instead of the embedded icons in MAIN FIRMWARE, you simply use the menu.ml file to tell the phone to look for icon1_selected.png, it then will look for that FILE instead of the EMBEDDED ICONS IN MAIN FIRMWARE.

OPEN MENU.ML IN NOTEPAD if you haven't already. this may throw some light on the matter.

But PLEASE please read, the answers are all already in this thread and people keep asking the same questions again and again.

I'm sorry, but I Don't know how to explain this any simpler? Open the menu.ml file in notepad and read through it. It will eventually make sense but you have to use your BRAIN and EYES to read and UNDERSTAND.

None of them have any icon files in them. They have code in them that points to icons.

Yes ANY original MENU.ML file will do.

Yes it's true, and no you can't back up files from your K800. That's why I've supplied links to original files, so that if you overwrite a file while experimenting you can restore the original and get your phone back to default.
