All this talk of the P1i being slow for texting is baffling. I have come from S60 and the texting is much faster, as is the camera app and the whole UI really. I have a shortcut to create SMS message, from this I'm straight in and the text cursor keeps up with me, not once do I feel the app is slow and I'm a very fast texter. How is it slow???

reading messages and sending them out is slow... BUSY BUSY BUSY then it shows up... on average i have about 500-1000 text messages in my inbox and the p1i can handle it but it's slow to open them and slow to start new ones.. compares to nokia s60 in general and the refreshing doesn't help things either...
it's not unbearable but it is slow in comparison .. the nokia s60 message application is fantastic.. for management and performance imo...

Is it because you have so many messages? I have around 10 in my inbox and I delete all replied to messages but suffer no speed issues. OK I do get the 'busy' very briefly when opening a message but this doesn't bother me. I suppose if you were constantly opening and closing messages all day then this could get tiresome but otherwise I think it's being a little bit picky. Every smartphone I've ever used has had speed issues and the P1i is the fastest of the bunch.

You really made me laugh with this
"The sure thing, is that we--> the users of M600, can feel that we have an upgrade of the best phone ever in the market !"
So what about all the users on this Forum filling up pages with the problems they are having, or is that all just there imagination then? Not to mention the commitments above about the messaging app then?
Now i am not saying it is a bad device and for some it may even be the perfect device but it most certainly isn't for all users is it?
Marc

Which phone is suitable for ALL users?? That's why each brand has several handsets in its line-up, nobody makes a phone for all seasons and all tastes. You just get the one you like the best. For me, when I bought it (and nothing has come along since to tempt me), this was the P1i.

i thinks the guy above

is right, thats why there are different types n brands. for people who navigate, people who listen to music, people who surf,... but for me personally, the p1i is the best choice. good for music, good for surfing, good for messaging,... i just like it alot!

my problem pretty much the same with dragoneye, texting, opening inbox and adding contacts number in SMS could really take long, but then still, it's much better than my N73 with latest firmware responding, so it ain't bad after all......
but i have to concede that, 6110 navigator responds well and it's even better than my e90
keyboard was a bit tricky in my first days of M600, ever since, i love it so much that i was wishing my P990 featuring this semi-QWERTY and thinking of switching the front of my W950 to M600, just to accomodate the semi keyboard! well it's either you hate it or love it

no way i'm not be picky the app needs to be improved after all it's a messaging device.. lol my k790 handles messages faster... i should not have to keep my messages down to 10 for it to be fast.. i send about 2500 sms messages a month some i like to keep, i also do email and mms..
the s60 message tab system is the best i've ever used...it's fast if you have the mailbox open...
if you look at non-ts UIQ on the z8 it's implemented the same as standard s60 and the TS UIQ guys should be looking at using somehting similar...this is not precoesser speed it's bad deisgn...
the UIQ message layout is good cause all the info is on one screen.. but the start to finish "process" is a bit lacking...
again not unbearable but imo it's flawed
