My K850i is fine. I can press the buttons as hard as I want and I don't get anything. I have just created the effect by pushing the right soft VERY hard. I think perhaps you should get them sent back.
Wow, it's sounding like there's a few being sent back. I guess though that it's something that happens with a lot new high-end phones. I know a lot of people who sent theie N95s back but they got their networks to send them something different instead because even it worked it wouldn't be worth it.
I'm not a SE fanboy..... honest..

Nebbs, I still don't have my K850i, but if I were to experience that with my K850i, then I would definitely ask for replacement right away. A few people with K850i here already tried it with their phones and theirs don't exhibit that screen distortion unless they press keys really hard.

Another question:
Is it true that K850i no longer has that red light of K800/K810, and that it only uses the LED light to auto-focus in dim environments?
I hated K750/W800's LED light when it's being used for autofocusing especially when taking pictures of people, because they complain that it's blinding (and I agree). K800/K810 handles this issue very well by using that dim red light instead (something that dedicated digital cameras also use).

Finally got my K850i today. Been playing with it for about 2 hours now and just noticed that my message counter says
Sent text msgs: 2
There are no messages in the sent messages folder or outbox. I have not sent any messages yet. All timers (including call timers in service tests) and data counters are at zero. I don't understand :-|
Has anyone else noticed anything like this?
