Of course you can also check out FCC. The W960 is up, btw. It's named Mooi. So please, stop any doubts about this now. Thanks

@razec
I'm no insider
so what I say is just through reasoning (with some facts of course).
The current JP-8 doesn't support touchscreen, and I reckon Maria will be one of the few touchscreen based phones from SE, perhaps the only one. There's only one (expensive) iPhone, and all there needs to be is one (expensive) solution from SE.
SE's probably waiting to see the market reaction to touchscreen based phones, and maybe then they'll move down towards more midrange phones.

So probably they don't consider iphone's hit as substantial for making the A-series touchscreen

Well, the iPhone is also combined with a very large amount of hype and very clever marketing. Whether consumers prefer (expensive) touchscreen phones for the entire marketplace remains to be seen.
Remember - touchscreen based phones need large screens and that means large phones (width and height). It's also expensive to have large screens, and if all phones had huge screens, they'd also all have to be expensive as well.
So as it stands, one fairly expensive phone with touchscreen seems the way to go. Maybe having a 'flagship' consumer product (touch based) that people would pay a nice premium to use, and a phone which is distinctive in the portfolio to justify a high price; for everyone else, a 'simple' hard key based phone seems perfectly acceptable IMO.
Not everyone is prepared to spend a lot on a phone, and likewise people probably don't want to have a substandard touch platform on a small screen when a good 'old fashioned' way to do it is better.

Point to remember:
DISCONTINUED the touchscreen, NON-smartphone
Z558 less than a year ago......
Which happily ran on DB2010/2020(can't remember which, but CERTAINLY no more advanced than A100, at the latest), and I've never seen one complaint to date about memory leaks, or any other untoward problems with them(nearly had one myself, unfortunately a let-down on here scuppered it)......

Dude, nobody has been looking Apple over the shoulder. All have been developing these userfriendly phones - Apple was simply the first to announce and release it. It's as simple as that.

I don't think we'll see a high-end walkam on nov 6/14/15th because w960 isn't even out yet and announcing new high-end phones before w960 release would not be very clever.

I really missed
's strategy producing walkman phone with autofocus since they did it with W610 months ago. i would hope there will be a walkman phone with 5 or 3mp camera and autofocus, i would call it walkman-shot
